Add a fish pond to your garden

Fish Pond Dunster House

The addition of an elegant water feature to your garden has the power to turn your garden into a tranquil oasis of calm. However, not everyone has the ability, funds or inclination to dig up their garden and install a pond. I’m not going to lie; it’s not particularly appealing to me either, so when it was announced that we were bringing out a line of fish ponds, I could not have been happier.

Available in a variety of sizes, starting from as little as W1.0m x D1.0m and going as large as W2.0m x D2.0m, there is a fish pond that’ll suit gardens of all shapes, sizes, themes and layouts. These structures, which are available in a variation of both narrow and wide, are made from slow grown Spruce. There is a little construction to do, although not nearly as much as installing your own pond. Plus, we supply you with all you need to put it together. You just need the tools.

Fish Pond

Far superior to the fish ponds sold by our competitors, our fish ponds features 45mm thick walls. These walls feature a tongue and groove system with double notches. These notches allow for the natural expansion and contraction of timber without them falling out of place or gaps appearing. These slot together similar to a jigsaw puzzle, making construction easy. You could build it in as little as a weekend. Each piece of timber, including the 70mm bearers, is fully pressure treated. This treatment protects the timber against rot and fungal decay without the need to annually treat for 10 years. We are so sure, we guarantee it.

In order to waterproof your fish pond, and ensure you don’t wake up with a wet garden and dead fish, we supply a membrane with your pond. This membrane is extremely thick. It was manufactured to exacting tolerances to ensure it’s resistant to tearing or breaking. This membrane covers the entirety of the ponds interior so there is no risk of leaking once full. For additional protection, we give you the option to add a sheet of insulation to the pond. This will lie under the crease free liner. You will need to trim these to size to slot them neatly between the panels. It will prevent the water from freezing and killing your fish.

Construction

Once your fish pond has been constructed, you need to work out how you intend to use it. You can either add a pond pump and fill it with fish or add a miniature fountain and foliage to turn it into a focal point; it really is down to your personal preference, style and budget. The best thing about them is that, because they are above ground, you can place anywhere within your garden. They are easy to move virtually anywhere.
