In the latest of our case studies, we are looking at the story of John and Barbara Dale, an Electrical Engineer and a Head teacher, who have bought a Swallowmere Greenhouse W2.4m x D3.6m for their beautiful garden in Somerset.
A Robust Greenhouse
John and Barbara live in Somerset and as keen gardeners they understand the need for having a Greenhouse that allows them to extend their harvest through the year and in particular having fresh vegetables all year round.
“My Greenhouse was bought to extend the growing season, particularly of summer salad type crops; tomatoes, cucumbers and such.”
On the whole, John and Barbara required three things from their new garden building:
“Tough construction, toughened glass, low maintenance.”
“The Greenhouse replaced my previous Greenhouse, of inferior construction and with poor glazing,” explained John on the reasons for buying a new Greenhouse.
Choosing a Dunster House Garden Building
After unsuccessfully visiting some other companies and browsing other websites, John was finally impressed when he discovered our Company’s website and viewed a Dunster House Greenhouse.
“I looked at several Greenhouses in local garden centres and searched extensively on-line. I found the Dunster House Greenhouse website was clear and easily understandable, and the content was pitched exactly at my requirement. The Greenhouse looked good and was competitively priced.”
The service provided by our teams was also agreeable, despite some minor issues that occurred but were completely resolved in a timely and professional manner.
“Couldn’t be better. The delivery truck turned up when expected, staff helped unload. One pane of glass was broken in transit. However but they gave a voucher to replace it locally (done without problem).”
“I assembled the Greenhouse myself; found a couple of fixings missing, after calling the missing parts turned up in the post the next day. In all, very satisfactory.”
The Building Process
The building process was really easy and John is very proud that he managed it quite well completely by himself “I built the Greenhouse alone over two days. It was easily manageable; instructions were clear.”
After 2 years, John is very happy with the finished project. His Greenhouse has withstood the harsh British weather.
“It is definitely tough and has survived some severe gale force winds without damage. The finish is very durable having turned a silver grey. No sign of any rot.”
Another Greenhouse in the nearby future
Friends and family seem to quite impressed by their new acquisition and envious as well.
“Everyone seems impressed. It looks good, fits the space well. Most say they would like something similar.”
When asked if they had any future plans for improvements John said
“I’m happy with this Greenhouse but I have in mind another Dunster House Greenhouse/Potting Shed for a nearby location.”
Would they buy from Dunster House again and would they consider recommending the Company to family and friends?
“Definitely! A good Company with good quality, innovative products. Well set up and giving what it promises.”
