With Spring well underway, it’s time you got your garden ready if you haven’t already. The weather has been extremely sporadic recently with beautiful sunny days mixed with cloudy and rainy days. Although this constant change isn’t good for us (would much rather have sunshine every day!) it is the perfect condition for plants and flowers to flourish. If you haven’t got around to gardening yet we have some quick tips to get your garden looking ‘blooming’ marvellous.
If you have old leaves scattered across the lawn it is probably best to start clearing them up as well as other debris. Removing the dead leaves as well as plants will give a cleaner look to your garden. Once it is free of leaves and clutter it will give you more space for compost and other equipment that you prepare to use in order to get ready to plant.
Attack the Weeds and Garden Pests
Pests can be a real problem and affect your plants even before planting. That is why it is important to tidy up so there are no little critters hiding under anything and everything. Remove any slugs, snails and any other insects that may inhabit your garden. You should remove weeds as well. Hunting around your garden and disposing of them will benefit your garden, ensure that you removed the roots so they don’t appear again.
