Twas the night before Christmas – Dunster House version!

Twas the night before Christmas

Twas the night before Christmas
And all through the cabin,
Not a sound could be heard,
Just Mum and Dad wrapping!

With triple therm insulation,
Keeping them warm,
And the toughened glass panels,
Braving the storm

The stockings here hung,
On the Log Bar with care,
A large glass of Brandy,
For Santa placed there

When what should they see,
On their houses roof,
But the big man in red,
And 32 little hooves.

Santa got down,
From his luxurious sleigh,
But stopped when he saw,
Two people coming his way!

“The kids are asleep;
The house is locked up,
We’re making Hot Chocolate,
Come in for a cup!”

He followed them in,
To the warm Log Cabin,
And smiled as he said
“This reminds me of Aspen”.

He sat and regaled them,
With tales of snow,
Before looking at his watch,
And standing to go!

“I really must go,
I have a lot to do,
But I love your Cabin,
Who sold it to you?”

Dad beamed with pride,
As he smiled at his spouse,
“We got it in the sale,
Happening at Dunster House

He sprang to his sleigh,
To his team gave a whistle,
And away they all flew,
Like the down of a thistle.

But I heard him exclaim,
‘Ere he drove out of sight,
“Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good-night!”
