Why add a Greenhouse to your garden

Customer Reviews Serendipity Greenhouse Dunster House

Before I worked here, I though Greenhouses were only for green-fingered gardening fanatics who spent all their time creating stunning gardens I could only dream off. However, through research and discussions with customers, I found that this is not true in the slightest.  There are many reasons to buy a Greenhouse; whether your have hours to dedicate to gardening or just minutes, if you run a home business or you’re just starting out.

Once you’ve added a Greenhouse to your garden, you’ll wonder how you ever lived without it. Made with 4mm toughened glass fitted into strong Pressure Treated frames that protect against rot and fungal decay, these Greenhouses are as beautiful as they are durable.  The toughened Glass, which we’ve proven is a better choice than plastic in a previous blog, helps maximise the amount of daylight reaches the plants in your Greenhouse when daylight is limited.

Whilst letting all the daylight reach your plants, the toughened glass also acts as barrier against the harsher weather of the British Winter. Flowers are beautiful but are notoriously difficult to keep over winter, often resulting in you having to start all over again each spring. With the addition of a Greenhouse to you garden; tender plants can be cut back, lifted and stored until the harsh weather or winter is over. In addition to being able to save the plants you already love (really, why would you need another reason?), you can also grow more plants than you would be able to in just your back garden. By pot planting seedlings, you can control what type of soil you use making no plant out of bounds!

It’s great having all the essentials to start gardening but do you have the time? Trying to find time to garden can be difficult, especially if you don’t have a Greenhouse. You may read that statement and think it’s slightly over dramatic but, think about it, how many times you have stepped outside to garden and then heard the phone go, door go or children call you in to find something they’ve lost or take them somewhere. There are a million distractions all pulling you away from the garden meaning it often doesn’t get the love it deserves. The addition of a Greenhouse gives you a designated space where you can close the door behind you and focus solely on gardening, the thick timber and toughened glass create a sound barrier from outside distractions for you to truly focus on what you’re doing.

When the skies are grey and the sunlight is limited, it can be easy to get stuck into a rut and spend all your time indoors rather than spending time outdoors.  The lack of sunlight can cause lethargy and depression along with illnesses such as SAD and Vitamin D deficiency. By having a garden that’s starting to bloom, you’ll have more of an incentive to leave the house and be outside for the day. If you have a vegetable garden in your Greenhouse, you’ll want to get out and pick the food for the day (which is great for your food bill as well).

I know how much you love your garden, its apparent in the pictures you send through to our customer reviews so I don’t understand why this should change for six months of the year, every year. The addition of a Greenhouse means that it doesn’t have to change; you can keep your garden bright all year round.
